The sixth Health Yetu medical camp in Archers Post, Northern Kenya, delivered vital healthcare services by focusing, for the first time, on only eye care, dental care, and HPV vaccinations. For 5 days, the Kenyan team treated 2242 patients, achieving its most concentrated impact to date.

Achievements

• Eye Care:
  • 168 eye surgeries were successfully conducted of which 145 were to address cataracts to restore vision.
  • 1185 patients were screened and 1026 treated for eye conditions.
  • The camp provided prescription glasses, reading glasses, and post-surgery sunglasses to improve patients' quality of life.
• Dental Care:
  • 964 dental procedures were conducted, alleviating pain and addressing a range of oral health concerns for 643 patients.
• HPV Vaccinations:
  • 452 HPV vaccinations were administered, contributing to the prevention of cervical cancer and supporting long-term community health.

Despite the challenges of mobilizing eye patients, the camp successfully reached underserved communities and demonstrated its most significant impact in terms of total surgeries, procedures, and preventive vaccinations thus far. This milestone reflects the foundation's dedication to transforming lives and promoting sustainable health outcomes in remote and underserved regions.
